Freezone Auctions has been specially set up for Freezone scientologists to buy and sell items of interest to them. As well as providing a safe auction without interference from any other body, it also will support the IFA and so the Freezone. it provides more activity in the Freezone and will also draw more people and products to the Freezone top How much does it cost to use Freezone Auctions? Freezone Auctions charges a commission for each sale payable at the end of the bidding process by the seller. This is to defray the costs of running the auction and to support the costs of the IFA. On each auction there will be a 5 percent (5%) charge on the total winning bid of each auction that is successfully completed. With a minimum of 3 dollars. i.e. if the auction winning bid was 100 dollars then the commission paid by the seller would be 5 dollars. If the winning bid was 200 dollars then the service charge woudl be 10 dollars. If the winning bid was 20 dollars then the commission paid by the seller would be 3 dollars. An invoice is automatically sent to the seller when the bid is successful and the seller has 7 days to settle the invoice through PayPal. If there is no sale and or the seller cancels the auction for that item then a fee of 3 dollars is still payable to Freezone Auctions for the use of the system. The account address to which such commissions should be paid will be on the invoice sent to the email address of the seller. If a seller has a number of auctions and is a prolific seller they can apply for a monthly invoice and negotiate for a discounted service fee. top How can I get the best interest and price for my goods? The title of your item and the description are vitally important to catch the buyers eye and provide buyers with a good R factor on what you are selling. Your item's title and description are your advertisement, an opportunity to both inform and excite buyers. Writing a good title and description will significantly increase your chances of your listing being found and there is plenty of bidding resulting in a sale for a good price. Make a clear, compelling first impression by writing a great title for your item. Here are some tips to help: * Use descriptive keywords that clearly convey what you are selling. * Give any issue dates so the buyer knows when the product, such as a book or tape for example, was issued * Include your item's brand name, artist, or designer. * State exactly what your item is, even if your title repeats the category name. * Try not to include "wow" or "look". Buyers don't search for words like these. *Facts and an accurate description are much more important top What are prohibited goods? Be sure your item is allowed on Freezone Auctions? examples of such prohibited items include alcohol, animals, credit cards,drugs, food, fireworks, pornography, tobacco and weapons. Also prohibited copyright material and copyright violations (examples are photocopied books and course packs). If in doubt ask first. top Am I infringing copyright when I sell scientology goods by auction? Provided the original covers are on such items as books and they are the genuine article they come under the second hand trade laws. It is quite ok to buy and sell second hand goods such as books, tapes, meters (contrary to some beliefs), course packs and other insignia. Selling photocopies of books and copies of tapes, CDs that are not the original would be a violation of copyright and would not be accepted for sale on Freezone Auctions. If in doubt consult the Terms and Conditions of use. You can also use the feedback page to ask a question about an item you are interested in selling. top Can I sell meters by auction? The short answer is yes. Although eBay tends to remove Church e-meters upon request there is no reason whatsoever why an individual cannot sell their own meter. Provided such meters have been purchased in good faith and a receipt is available for the purchase that demonstrates the seller as being the legal owner, then they are quite within their legal rights to offer up that merchandise for sale by auction. Please note: All Buyers and sellers acknowledge that any Meter of any type whatsoever, examples being the Stalker, the ability, the Mark IV, Mark V Mark VI, Mark VII or the meter known as the Quantum VII or any other meter offered for sale is not intended for the diagnosis or treatment of any disease or ailment and is purely used as a guide during counseling to locate spiritual activity occurring during the counseling process. top What is Freezone Auctions? Freezone Auctions is an Auction site sponsored and set up by the International Freezone Association for their members and members of the scientology freezone at large for the purposes of buying and selling legally owned goods. Such goods can include books, tapes, meters and course packs as well as insignia and other items. top What is scientology? The International Freezone Association is a body of independent scientologists who prefer to believe in and practice the original philosophy of Lafayette Ron Hubbard rather than the later day altered version practiced by the Church of Scientology™. Further information can be obtained from the International Freezone Association website. top What happens if the buyer backs out and does not pay for a winning bid? Then the seller starts the Dispute Process. The first step is getting in communication with the buyer. A problem may have arisen, such as a difficulty with PayPal or other payment method selected. Perhaps the buyer has a problem with the bid or finds himself unable to complete the cycle for some valid reason. It is essential that both parties get together and resolve the issue amicably and without any H E & R*. If the issue cannot be resolved between both parties then Freezone Auction is consulted as per the Dispute Process. Note that where Freezone Auctions are consulted then a fee will be exacted from both parties and the decision by Freezone Auctions will be considered final. top What happens if the item I bought is not as described when it is delivered? In this case the buyer initiates the dispute process. Such things as Time Place Form and Event are most important here. The buyer should get together with the seller and see if a resolution can be arrived at using ARC**. If a resolution cannot be arrived at and the buyer is still dissatisfied then Freezone Auctions may be consulted again as per the Dispute Process. Note that where Freezone Auctions are consulted then a fee will be exacted from both parties and the decision by Freezone Auctions will be considered final. top What do I do if PayPal reverses a transaction by a buyer? The first step is to inform the buyer and send them the notification you received from PayPal that the transaction was refused/denied/reversed with all details. Freezone Auctions should also be informed with all details as well. It may be just a difficulty with PayPal and the buyer should be given every opportunity to rectify this with PayPal or offer an alternative form of payment. In the event the buyer refuses to do so or cites a complaint after the fact of apparently not paying and reversing that payment, instead of using the proper dispute process, then their membership will be revoked from Freezone Auctions, Their feedback wiped out and other members advised also. Legal means may be used to recover funds if the product has been delivered in good faith. This should be sufficient deterrent not to allow this to happen again. Freezone Auctions will not be responsible for any losses incurred by any buyer or seller. Please see the Terms & Conditions. top Why is my membership cancelled? Freezone Auctions retains the right to cancel any membership at any time. This is for the protection of the Freezone Auction and the members. All auctions will be monitored for any activity that is not conducive to the spirit of the purpose of Freezone Auctions and the IFA. In the eventuality that a membership is cancelled the member will be notified at the email address given in the members profile. top How do I leave feedback? Simply go to the feedback section after you have logged in. You can leave feedback for any products you have bought or sold where you have not yet left feedback top What do I do if I have a dispute about: Feedback As mentioned before get in communication with the other party. there may be an unspoken problem, ARC break or other issue that can be remedied just by simple good old fashioned communication. If not then the dispute process with Freezone Auctions should be initiated using the Feedback Page. Winning Bid Again communication is the universal solvent. Most times there is simply a misunderstanding or not understanding resulting in the disagreement. Find out what it is in consultation with the other party(s) and if that does not resolve it, again use the Dispute Process. Amount paid or received from a buyer This can usually be resolved between the seller and the winning bidder. If not then the Dispute Process should be used as per above. Shipping Costs Make sure one establishes and agrees upon the shipping costs before bidding if there is any doubt as to what they will be. Once an agreement is decided upon then there should be no issue at the conclusion of the auction for that item. If there is, again, use communication to resolve it and the dispute process if direct communication does not resolve it. *H E & R: Human Emotion and Reaction. Colloquial. Means having an inappropriate and unwanted knee jerk type of reaction. Sometimes used by people instead of handling something rationally and calmly.
