How to Use

Freezone Auctions is a not for profit online auction sponsored by the International Freezone Association for the benefit of it's members and the Freezone as a whole.

Here you can buy and sell predominately scientology materials such as books, tapes, meters and other materials. You can also buy and sell other non scientology related materials.

This auction operates in a similar way that eBay and other online auctions operate.

How to use the Freezone Auctions site.

The first step is to browse the site and find out as much about it as possible.

Read and ensure you understand the various pages including the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Disputes Policy. Don't forget the FAQ page. Most questions can be answered from the FAQ page.

Anyone can browse the auction but in order to either buy or sell you will have to register as a member. To be a member you will need to sign up. You can Register here.

Step two is to either place a bid for an existing item in the auction or, if you are a seller, go to the seller's page in the members area and start placing items to sell.

Some important tips for selling, especially scientology materials.

Ensure you give a complete description of the goods you are selling.

What condition are they in?
How old are they (publishing date is important when selling scientology books to freezoners).
Size and shape may be important.
Any additional material, (for example with a Meter, are there cans, charging devices etc?).
A picture is worth a thousand words, (engrams notwithstanding). If you can do so, add a picture.

Once you have all the information to sell, Preview this by selecting the Preview button and ensure it is correct. You can change it if you are not happy. When you are fully satisifed click the commit button and your item will appear on site after a moment or two and the auction for your item will begin.

Bidding and Buying

Bidding and buying is very simple. You will need to be logged in if you want to bid.

Having browsed what is available and selected what you would like to bid on, you place you bid in the bidding field and confirm the bid. If you are the last person to bid when the auction is completed, You will then be displayed as the winning bidder. Both you and the seller will receive an email advising of the completion of the bid. The auction for that item will still be displayed but as closed with the winning bidder shown and will remain on site for 48 hours before being removed. Freezone Auctions will still keep a record however and the item will still be recorded in your member area

As stated, at the end of the auction, the last person to successfully upload their bid within the allocated time frame will be the winning bidder. The seller will know who they are and will advise shipping charges (If a person has a query about the shipping charges they are strongly advised to ask and get agreement on the shipping charges with the seller prior to bidding). Then the buyer pays the seller and the seller will also pay Freezone Auctions their commission (see next paragraph). All of this will be done through the Freezone Auctions automated email process.

As you will appreciate, the cost of building and running such an auction costs money. To defray some of these costs and to support the International Freezone Association, Freezone Auctions will charge a commission for each sale payable at the end of the bidding process by the seller. On each auction there will be a 5 percent (5%) charge on the total winning bid of each auction that is successfully completed. With a minimum of three (3) dollars charged.

In other words, if the auction winning bid was 100 dollars then the commission paid by the seller would be 5 dollars. If the winning bid was 20 dollars then the commission paid by the seller would be 3 dollars. The system will work this out and an invoice will be automatically sent to the seller when the sale is successfully concluded and the winning bid is known. If there is no sale and or the seller cancels the auction for that item then a fee of 3 dollars is still payable to Freezone Auctions for the use of the system. The seller has 7 days from the end of the auction to settle the invoice by paying through PayPal. The account address to which such commissions should be paid will be on the invoice sent to the email address of the seller. If a seller has a number of auctions and is a prolific seller they can apply for a monthly invoice.

There are also available some Frequently Asked Questions so please consult those before emailing any queries.

Please also ensure you read the Terms, User Agreement and Conditions of Use before you sign up.
